Mind is said to be the 6th sense, the highest in biological evolution. It helps us to undergo the highest of human experiences.

The main objective of the mind is to experience the creation with the help of Maya.

Mind interacts with the other 5 sense organs - ears, skin, eyes, tongue and nose and helps to experience sound, touch, sight, taste and smell respectively.

Mind and body work as a pair and use the brain as the junction point for the senses.

Mind is the seat of emotions. It is also stored with memories and karmas.

Mind permeates the entire human system and also has the capacity to stretch and permeate the entire cosmos through its intent.

The functioning of the mind is considered as the subtlest and the most complex.

The other functions of the mind include experiencing, imagining, creating, perceiving, remembering, retrieving etc.

Excess karmas cause sagging of mind due to the imprints and prevent further ascension of the soul.

Purity of a person depends largely on the purity of the mind. Hence it is very important to keep one’s mind free from mental impurities or arishadvargas.

Sadhana plays a crucial role in cleansing one’s mind from such impurities.

Ego

Divine Soul Guru Wisdom Positive Quotes

Ego is the mistaken identity of the self or soul.

Ego is relating ‘I’ as body or mind instead of self or soul.

Ego originated when the soul was bound inside the body and started assuming that the body is real, forgetting its own identity.

It is the Mind and Maya that causes Ego.

Ego clouds soul intelligence.

Ego limits. Ego misleads.

Ego is the cause of suffering.

Ego comes in the way of sadhana and hinders the progress towards self realisation.

Ego vanishes only in love.

Karma

Divine Soul Guru Wisdom Positive Quotes

Karma is the effect of action.

Based on the intention of the action performed, its effect acquires good or bad imprints and is called as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ karma.

Good Karma brings happiness and bad karma brings unhappiness.

These imprints attract and influence similar imprints, good or bad and become tendencies and eventually habits and creates destiny.

The imprints are registered in the mind and body.

When we perform action with Ego, the mind exhibits the bad imprints as Arishadvargas or six negative tendencies.

When we perform action with self or soul awareness and in ‘non-doer’ or ‘surrendered’ state, we acquire no Karma. Such actions cause Karma Yoga.

Karmas, good or bad, both add load to the mind sheath and become an obstacle for the onward ascending journey.

Because of Karma, we as souls are stuck up in this Earth unable to ascend.

Karma causes a cycle of life and death.

The purpose of this birth is to clear the karmas, break this cycle and return to our abode, Light.
